NYC Sanitation Weekend Operational Update
Snow watch: The forecast is still changing a bit, but we are monitoring closely and preparing for snow. Spreaders & plows will be ready.

Collection: Trash, recycling, compost and tree collection is ongoing Friday and Saturday. Sanitation Dept plans to transition to snow operation Sunday, and continue that work Monday. Remember Monday is Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, a holiday, and no regular collection is planned.
Open Streets Winter Weather Advisory
According to the latest forecast, cold weather is expected through the weekend, with snow, rain and strong winds possible late Sunday into Monday. On Sunday night into Monday morning, there is potential for minor to possibly moderate coastal flooding in some areas.

Open Streets Partners should be prepared to secure all outdoor furniture and barricades. Partners may preemptively suspend or alter their Open Streets operating hours for this weekend and should be prepared to suspend or alter operations if ordered to do so by the NYC Depart of Transportation.

All winter weather information and information about the City’s response to the storm can be found by visiting the City’s Severe Weather website at www.nyc.gov/severeweather, or by calling 311.
